Day 244 - OUT of a WINDOW

This is the view towards the sea from our spare bedroom window. Towards the RH side are the South Downs

Peter has a colonoscopy tomorrow morning as a routine check up for his Crohn's disease so we aren't going anywhere today and hospital early tomorrow am and then home late morning. We are supposed to be at an evening wedding reception tomorrow night but may be going on my own :(

Day 243 - THRIVING

What a busy day and only now putting up my photo!!
Had a brilliant sleepover for my 8yr old DGS Zac and a busy day with him, then suddenly it was 7pm and we were taking him home before going out with friends last night.
Here is my photo of some thriving Giant Busy Lizzies plants which haven't been watered whilst we were away but must have had enough rain water and warm sunshine!

Early yesterday morning I went to Ann's for my usual fortnightly treatment and here is the progress to her converted barn since I last took a photo 3 weeks ago

Day 242 - SLOW

How apt today's word was.
My daughter in law had a birthday today and we took her, our daughter and 3 grandchildren to our local Beefeater, None of us had been for a long time.
The service was appalling and so SLOW! We ordered our food at 12.47 and finally got starters at 2.15! Not only that but the tables were dirty and some of the cutlery and when the food came it had been microwaved and was hot and dry on the outside and cold in the middle. We saw the manager who had only arrived 24hrs before and agreed there were major problems to sort out and cancelled our bill and offered us free icecream sundaes for us all!

Day 238 - PURPLE Amazing how many photos had purple in them

Day 239 - EDIBLE Well we are home and here is our veg garden full of weeds but some edible lettuce!!

Madeira cake we brought home for our son. It is darker than our cake as it is made from molasses instead of castor sugar

Day 234 - STRAIGHT A lot of the villages in Madeira had celebrated a Saints Day in their village. We were lucky to see some of their flower decorations along the roads

Here we have found our old neighbours card when they brought their yacht Calidris Alba back to the UK last year. Our ship the Marco Polo is in the background!
