There was no card in the morning but he arrived with it and an artificial rose at lunchtime....Peter said he could get the rose out of his drawer each year from now on!!!!
Oh and about Amarylis bulbs for old people.  Well it was always the present we bought our MIL's later in life when we didn't know what to buy them for Christmas!!!

FSM #15 well here is my fridge with no cleaning or tidying up this morning :)
Pleased with how it looked except slightly dirty on the bottom shelf so picasa vignette round the edges to hide it!!

Back to daily photos for Anne and others. We had a very grey start to the day which became a blue sky, white fluffy cold dayfinishing with a lovely sunset kast night, not the most glorious we have seen but like to see red sky at night as you know it will be a nice day the following morning

14th Feb # 14 Love is...

#14 LOVE IS..... Happy Valentine Day everyone!  Here is Peter at lunch time with  RED ROSE AND A CARD, the tag on the rose says " A little late I forgot the date" but he didn't, he just didn't have anything this morning!

So to continue with IMPOSSIBLE.  Ann said she would like to hear stories when in our lives things seemed impossible and things are bad, it was possible to recover from it!! Is this a good story for Valtentine's day? NO!!

I seem to have had an anonymous reader on this blog, have left his gibberish comment but decided what I wrote was too personal to leave so have deleted it.
Sorry to those of you who haven't read it. To precise the long blog, it was the story of becoming a single Mum at 34yrs, how the things I would have thought impossible became possible...of course!! and photos of our courtship, wedding and holiday with the boys the year my exe left me.

A painful time which I got through and and found more happiness with Peter x

13th Feb not a lot happened today! #13 WALK

#13 WALK to our local Spa shop. It was a very cold grey day :(
Today was our day together but we hadn't planned to do anything but to go to the cinema once again in the afternoon on Wed with Orange 2 for 1. We went today to see the same film as Kathi and Col, the comedy chick flick "I give it a year" I laughed so much ..it did me good!
The morning was breakfast in Sainsbury and not the usual weekly shop but a lot fell into the trolley! Then we visited our new Dunelm in Hastings for the first time and managed a bill of £10!!

I am thinking about more impossibles in my life ( plenty when you are 67yrs old!!) and will be back tomorrow with the story of my being left with 2 small children after 13 yrs of what I thought was a happy marriage! Was it possible to find happiness again, OK yes I now you know about me meeting Peter but not the pain and heartache of my husband leaving me!........need to find some photos for the story!

12th Feb - Impossible...what is? #12 - where are you having lunch?

#12 eating lunch chez Nanny - good old baked beans and toast today!!

So now back to our challenge from Anne re the word impossible!  Today she has started to write about her dreadful accident which totally traumatised her. We await the next part tomorrow?

I too have had several accidents whilst on stairs and reading her blog today made me remember my worst accident in Nov 2009 where I too should have broken my neck or at least some bones!! Thankfully I recovered finally in Feb 2010 without any trauma BUT I have a dreadful fear of stairs and walk very slowly clinging to a hand rail where possible. OK I maybe getting older but to see me on stairs is to look at a little old lady!

Impossible or possible to recover?
I remember thinking that my injury would be impossible to heal and my scar would be dreadful .I had fallen down some concreted slabbed  stairs which we had made earlier in the year to our garage. We had quite a laugh about them slabs as Peter had bought them really cheap and didn't know (he is colour blind) that they were very pink colour! We proudly laid them, he doing the manual work and me the maths and foreman bit, we actually worked together very well that summer, so well that note in the collage, me directing work in my nightie!!

So on this Nov evening I should have been able to walk down the lovely slabbed steps to our garage at 5pm, (we had a sensor light which switched) on but on this dark evening and my arms were full of veg from a market to put in our overflow fridge in the garage and Peter is in the bathroom showering...he doesn't know what I am doing!! the  light doesn't come on....so arms full I stand in the dark on one leg and wave the other to catch the light............I topple over and fall front flat out all down those pink steps, glasses still!on my face and lay there thinking, phew I am alive!! vegetables strewn everywhere!!

I sit up very shaken but guess the adrenline flowing? I see the bathroom light on and know Peter could be upstairs watching TV in the bedroom for the next couple of hours until I call dinner is ready!

I have feel as if I have hurt my elbow but then I see my trousers split (very upset by this LOL!!) I lift my trouser leg to see a shiny shin bone looking at me!! Amazingly I have no pain or blood yet!!

How I got to the house I have no idea but I hopped and hobbled and arrived to shout up the stairs "take me to the hospital"

At A & E they dealt with me very promptly and a lovely guy who was just going off duty treated me wonderfully trying to put the injury back together so carefully and his advice made all the difference to my recovery. He told me a shin injury at my age(what did he mean!!!) would take a long time to heal so to stay in bed for a few weeks and always keep the injured leg  horizontal as much as I could.
I went to our surgery every week for 3 months to have the dressings changed as if I had a leg ulcer, had infections but finally it was healing by March 2010

Here is a collage of the steps, us making them,  my legs and elbow( had 12 stitches there)and resting in bed!!

I know I didn't have a car accident or a life threatening illness, and yes I have been very blessed not to either but like Anne I was so shaken by this accident and how long it took to heal that I began to think it would be impossible to recover!

Sadly the scar is there but not too obvious and it is painfull at times, (mainly in cold weather), but apart from that I am fine, it is possible to recover from an accident or injury thank goodness!!

11th Feb Week 2 of Lucky Snapping and #11 - ENTRANCE

Week 2 is the second letter of  SILVER LINING challenge from Anne...I  for IMPOSSIBLE!

It wasn't like Anne to give us such a negative word from the positive word Silver linings...so read on!

First let us look at the word IMPOSSIBLE meaning - unable to be done or performed, incapable of being true....

Mohammad Ali says "......impossible is not a fact. It is an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It is a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing....."

So we have to concentrate on NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE and even if it looks very bad, It is possible to recover from it!

Anne would like to hear stories and photos where possible about anything that seemed impossible in our lives and how we dealt with it.I am off to think about this challenge for a while and to do my Feb view LO this morning

Well still thinking and here is where I am on Jan and Feb album,...all printed out but TV catch up took over this pm !! I used my lovely Kindle HD Fire to find Jenn's LO! I was in the lounge as Peter is tying flies in my tidy scrap room :(!!
For Anne, here is the 'green frog' appearing for the first time!  #11 ENTRANCE to my home
Xanthe tomorrow but brain is in gear and ideas forming :)

10th February -a scrapping day #10 - 3 o'clock

What a horrible day weather wise. It was very cold and very wet. We went to church then came home and chilled out, Peter watch the Rugby and I scrapped and watched TV. late afternoon we had a snow storm which soon became rain again. Now we are going to eat dinner and watch our fav Sun night TV, Dancing on Ice, The Midwives and normally Mr Selfridge but may record and watch the BAFTA awards!

FSM #10 - 3o'clock what are you doing?I was watching the start of Harry Potter film as I scrapped
The weekly challenge on UKS was 1.an important person - my Dad     2.use a monogram D for dad  3. journalling aout that person
I lost my Dad 40 yrs ago. I found doing this LO quite emotional and sad as my children do not remember him and Peter never met him either!

We had pedicures this afternoon at the farm, whilst it was my turn Peter went for a walk...he hates sitting around waiting! This is what happened to him...he slipped in some mud around the farm LOL!!

5th Feb - another view and #5 - SMELL

Another sunny !y and a day with Xanthe. She seems to change and alter weekly at the moment. She is such a busy bee and in a cleaning and sorting mood today!! Look how busy she is!
I took the view from our bed again this morning, today Xanthe was in the photo and the hall has all my scrapping bags from the crop on Sunday, I haven't moved them yet!! Not sure if this view will alter much over the months but I also have 2 more views this week!!
#5 - SOMETHING YOU SMELLED / SMELT This is my perfume I have worn daily since I was 16yrs!! I have worn it for 50yrs now!
The 2nd smell photo for today was a reminder that 24yrs ago I didn't know I would be changing  poo knickers at 66yrs old!! Thank goodness for wet wipes :)

4th Feb -View again and #4 HOPE

We are back to week 1 in February and it is our view with Jenni again
This month the verse from the children's poem is
" FEBRUARY BRINGS THE RAIN
THAWS THE FROZEN LAKE AGAIN"
Well we definitely had snow in January but I hope we don't get too much rain!!!
Here was my view today in sunlight and the sun is slowly moving round and is higher in the sky bringing lighter teatimes at last!
The weather must be improving as I have had washing drying on the line last week and the clothes line is folded up but still out! How lovely to see the bulbs pushing through too, a sign of spring around the corner!
Today was our oldest friends 80th birthday. It is frightening how quickly time is now going as I still remember her 40th and 50th birthday parties and the wild Hogmanys and they are Scots!! We all worked together at a Sec schoool. She really didn't want to be 80 and sadly is suffering from ill health at the moment.
FMS #4 HOPE is a photo of my scales at zero waiting for me to come back from SW weigh in tonight to see if I had lost some weight this week. I hoped I had...and I had, not as much as I had hoped but 1 1/2lbs is a loss and I am feeling as if I have lost some weight at last!

3rd Feb End of our rainbow week #3 something beginning with e

FMS challenge # 3 Something beginning with E
My eternity ring, gosh doesn't my hand look old!!!

Well it's Sunday and the end of our 5th week of our Lucky Snapping challenge. My personal challenge was to try and find scarves/ shawls each day of the colours of the RAINBOW. I found the last colours indigo  and violet difficult !!
Today I went to our monthly crop and found plenty of cardstock colours!!
I made a rainbow out of cardstock and then someone was stitching a rainbow and I took a photo of the square and in Picasa I put them together!
This challenge was set by Janice and I want to say a big thank you to her for giving us a colourful week in the middleof a cold winter xx  I wonder how our views will have altered in 5 weeks tomorrow?
