Day 59 + 1! - EXTRAORDINARY

Our word today was extraordinary - meaning beyond the ordinary or the norm. A difficult one for a photograph in an ordinary day!

Then as we had lunch with 2 friends I thought about their lives and how different our retirement lives have been. Whilst we have taken up hobbies and slowed down and taken ordinary holidays abroad, further afield but ordinary, they have had some extraordinary adventures all over the world.

They started by travelling on their boat with a flotilla of 30 boats for 2 years following the trade winds. They then sailed together across the Atlantic and kept their boat on the East coast travelling as far as S America and north to Nova Scotia. They have finally brought the boat back to the UK last year but I am sure their sailing days are not over yet . Last week they returned from an exciting month long expedition on a ship to the Falklands, S Georgia and finally to the Antartic following part of Shacklton's route.
Then tonight the sunset from our patio was one of those not to be missed skies... not an ordinary sunset

  1. What a beautiful sky.

Your friends adventures sound wonderful. My inlaws were given a round the world ticket as part of his retirement package including a flight on Concorde. They visited some wonderful places and I was 'quite' envious!!!!
