13th August - Grandchildren day and T is for Tree

Most things in the house are the same as yesterday except the kitchen is tidy, shopping got put away and washing done and dried indoors overnight. Of couse ironing still sits waiting for when I feel like it!! What I really need is a cleaning and ironing fairy but no fairies around this neck of the wood:(
Last night we had a 'mackeral sky' so knew today would be nice. Took these photos at 8.20 and 8.30pm

Today is Zac and Xanthe's day. We didn't plan to do much with them today. I had a fasting blood test at 8.30pm for my thyroid and cholesral etc and they arrived as I was getting dressed and putting a new mepore dressing on, so they saw the wound and spider stitches, Xanthe's eyes were like owls!!
We decided to go out am and it was a lovely sunny morning. We went to Bexhill seafront where we can get coffee and icecream by the beach

It was very quiet on the beach, a very calm sea and there were lovely views of Beachy Head

We came home for lunch and then this afternoon Zac and Peter went to the park to watch a bowls tournament and Xanthe and I made buns for them to take home
To day being Tuesday letter T is for this unusual shaped tree that is at the house of my nail and electolysis lady. She calls it Uncle Dave's tree!!

12th Aug - A new Lucky Snapping challenge from Anne SILVER LININGS _ I for Irrelevant

What a challenge from Anne today! She is off on holiday and has left her challenge which as far as I can see is to make us feel ashamed by showing all the things we don't do or leave til later or as I say now I have retired..." there is always tomorrow"!

She also suggests we tell each other what are the little /big things that annoy us...or how we make a little annoyance become a BIG annoyance. Something I often do...hang my head in shame, but will leave that for another day.

So here I am Monday always a 'ME' day after the weekend and before tomorrow when it is grandchildren day.

  • Shopping was done am and here is pm and still not put away nor has the slow cook casserole been put on!
  • Washing still has to be put in the machine..if I had done it earlier it could be drying on the ine by now!!!

  • Ironing was started with all good intentions on Saturday but somehow I got fed up and left it to sit outside in the sun and read my book!!

and what am I doing when I get off this computer at 3pm...going to have some late lunch and chose a recording in our library!!

11th Aug - Lucky Snapping BOOK and any other views?

Today is Monday but just catching up with then end of Jenni's week yesterday!  She gave us the word BOOK for Sunday so this is was I am reading, not my favourite author but nearly 3/4 of the way through and want to know how it ends!!
Another view of the Bowls yesterday when I did the Bowls tea and sat outside reading. A glorious sunny afternoon
Forgot to show you the rainbow we saw last week
At the front of the house as we got home
Raced through the house and open the patio door, yes still there!
My last view for this month is our front garden, not as colourful now as the poppies have all been cleared, the lavender has finished flowering and the rose bushes are new this summer and flowers not so profuse! The Rowan berries on the tree are starting to go orange, wonder when the birds will take them!!

Bay of Fundy off the Nova Scotia/Maine coastline- wish stones with white lines through the stones
NZ many stones from N and S Island
Wales of course slate
and many many more ....etc, etc........
the last stones aren from the Granite coastline  in Brittany this year,
Here is my collection

A couple of  photos taken a few years ago when we took Canadian friends to Stonehenge

Between Thurs and Friday I had a very silly accident..........I got up at 11.30pm to turn Peter's bedside light off as he had fallen asleep with the light on as I rolled over and sat up I was too nr the edge of the bed and slid off................BUT my left arm caught the corner of y bedside cabinet and with the force of my body sliding to the ground, lacerated my upper arm. We finally went to A&E at 5am when I realised I needed stitches and came home around 7am with 6 stitches and the wound glued too :(
Felt very shaken and tired yesterday so just had a very easy day and bed very early, slept from 9pm - 9am today!
Not much to see yet, guess it will be another scar on my body of life:(!!!

Friday- SWEET
I tried to go to sleep am, but impossible and the door bell rang at 11.30am with these wonderful flowers from our dear 80yr old friends. How SWEET of them to do such a lovely thing for me, I was very touched! it was a shame I had to take this to pices but they did fill 2 vases!

Normally we don't have sweets in the house but being school holidays and how Haribos are always popular
we have a packet ready and waiting!!
Today 12th Aug - DRINK here is a lovely cheap bottle of vino- red of course for me to enjoy tonight watching TV and eating our dinner. I just love Lidl's :)

7th August - Plenty of TIME

How lovely to sat that...I have plenty of time today and tomorrow too :) Today's prompt is TIME too

This morning since I hadn't planned anything I suddenly decided to go and WI at another Slimming World club as I missed my Mon weigh in. Really glad I went as I have lost another 11/2lbs so nearly lost 1 stone now!
I popped inand out to weigh in so decided to go and get some bargains at our local Lidl store, just love their veg and cheap wine..and other things too!!
This afternoon I am making time to scrap this week's UKS weekly challenge. we have to incorporate one or all of these colours somewhere in the LO pink, purple or red for 10pts, use the given sketch for 10pts and more difficult, use a film or a song as your title old or new for 10points
Will post the finished LO when I have done it, know which photos and title, just have to chose the papers, that will take some TIME as I am a faffer!!

Good none has peeped so here 3 hrs later a very simple but LO done for 30 points for my team :) I guess you recognise the photos!

We have just had a fabulous day out with our youngest 2 grandchildren Zac and Xanthe.
Peter has wnted to go for years to http://www.eagleheights.co.uk/, we finally went today. The weather was warm dry and very sunny, just right for a day out and a picnic lunch. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the children so good and well behaved.
A collage of the animals we saw, mainly birds of prey

On our way home we saw a lot of lavender fields
